About Sara

Sara Schieffelin

Hi! I’m Sara Schieffelin

I’m a therapist, trainer, coach, and consultant.

My Approach

I’m licensed social worker with 15 years of experience using Motivational Interviewing in therapy, clinical supervision, and organizational coaching.

As a passionate advocate for MI, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients—from individuals seeking personal growth to healthcare teams looking to improve patient engagement.

I strive to create a space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered to take the next step in their journey toward positive change.

My Background

I teach Motivational Interviewing (MI) and have a private therapy practice in Florence, Massachusetts, where I see older adolescents and adults. I am also an adjunct instructor and Practicum Faculty Advisor at the Smith College School for Social Work, supporting the next generation of social workers as they embark on their careers.

I hold a master’s degree in social work from the Smith College School for Social Work and am a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
